BARTÓK WITH THE WIENER SYMPHONIKER

Andreas Haefliger joins the Wiener Symphoniker and conductor Susanna Mälkki at the Wiener Konzerthaus on 25 and 26 April to give two performances of Bartók Piano Concerto No.3. Haefliger is a regular guest at the Konzerthaus, and the concerts are his first under Mälkki's direction.

Haefliger and Mälkki come to the concerts fresh from recording Ravel Piano Concerto for the Left Hand for BIS with the Helsinki Philharmonic in March. Forthcoming collaborations for the pair include recordings of Bartók Piano Concerto No.3 and Dieter Ammann’s new Piano Concerto, which they perform together over the coming months in concert the Helsinki Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic and Boston Symphony orchestras.
